Sea Hearts... or Watered Silk by Margo Lanagan

Check out the book trailer for the new Margo Lanagan book - interestingly it appears to be confused about its title, but looks like an awesome read no matter what it is called... Reserve it here:

Great Holiday read - Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

If you are struggling to find a well-written, entertaining novel with original themes, consider picking up Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. This book has been one of the best Young Adult novels I have read recently, and it is a great title for adults too.

The story is set in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Karou is a talented artist, whose drawings of fantastical monsters and demons seem to be drawn from an overactive imagination. But Karou actually draws what she sees - a collection of chimera who are as close to her as family. Her beloved guardian brokers sinister deals in dark alleys - and Karou becomes entangled in a secret feud that could destroy the world as she knows it.

Highly recommended. Reserve a copy from the library today!
